OF
INTEREST: |
This residence is considered the purest example of Prairie
School residential architecture in Dallas. Many elements
found in Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie houses are included
in the design of this home. Its original owner, Rufus
Higginbotham, was the founder of Higginbotham, Bailey
and Logan, one of the largest wholesale dry goods houses
in the South. Mr. Higginbotham was also Chairman of
the Board of Directors of the Southwest National Bank,
one the largest financial institutions in the state. |
