A
series of sizable brick piers with innovative Prairie
School capitals marks the front of this house. The piers
rise to various heights in response to different functions;
some support planters at the height of the second story
railing, whereas others continue up to support a shed
porch roof. The gable roof forms exhibit various types
of brackets and carved rafters. The residence shows less
formality than its neighbors because of a more casual
window arrangement on the front facade. There seems to
be more concern for the plan than for the elevation.
