5520   5610

YEAR BUILT: 1932
ARCHITECT/BUILDER: Unknown
ORIGINAL OWNER: W.B. Marsh
ORIGINAL
DESCRIPTION:
Two story eclectic duplex. Beige brick and fieldstone. Slate roof. Hip roof. Double entrances below peaked gables; arched doors. Center front chimney. Battered wall on right. Stained glass windows running up stair on right. Flat mosaic tile arch over double window on left. Open raised terrace on left w/corbeled brick wall.
OF INTEREST: This home was the last residence to be constructed on Swiss Avenue in its developmental period and it is the only duplex on the street. The vacant lot, which once served as the local baseball diamond, became weedy and trashstrewn. It was a source of concern to local residents who gladly waived the single-family home requirement so that the structure could be built.
