DESCRIPTION: |
This
home is an example of Jacobethan Style. The detailing
of the main windows with heavy lintels, wide mullions,
and stone tabs shows much concern for authenticity. The
heavy Tudor arched lintel over the door, the bay windows,
and the prominent use of gables with bracketed bargeboards
in the attic story augment the Jacobethan design of the
facade. |
OF
INTEREST: |
This home was built for $17,500. It was the long-time
residence of the late Dr. W.A. Criswell, pastor of the First
Baptist Church, and his wife. |
