DESCRIPTION:
Two story Italian Renaissance. Beige brick. Red to blue tile roof. Hip roof w/front gable; brackets; bargeboards. Pavilion on right has group of three windows w/transoms, each window separated by a heavy brick pier. Recessed entry porch w/triple arches and twisted columns. Iron rail balcony under arched windows which are above porch; paired brackets. Visor roof over main floor windows on left; paired brackets. Orange chimney on right. Two story porte cochere on left w/brick arch; arched windows separated by twisted column on second floor. Corbeled brick cornice above.
OF INTEREST: The house, which was built for $25,000, was first occupied by William Shook, a Dallas attorney and former mayor of Rusk, Texas.
