YEAR BUILT: 1920
ARCHITECT/BUILDER: Architect: Bertram Hill
ORIGINAL OWNER: C.B. Shaw
ORIGINAL
DESCRIPTION:
This residence reverts to formal symmetry. the two-story pavillions mirror each other across a completely symmetrical facade incorporating the totally non-classical front chimney. The glazed openings of the entry pavillion are echoed by the openings in the opposing porches. The complex use of various arches on the exterior is carried through to the interior of the house where they are used for openings between rooms. The house has a typical corner hall plan except that now the fireplace has been moved to the front facade. The curious window in the chimney is in an upstairs bedroom.
